Based in Dallas, Texas, Marcus Cable was a leading U.S. multi-system cable TV operator with a presence in Alabama, Indiana, Southern California, Texas and Wisconsin.  In 1995, Marcus Cable acquired the cable assets of Sammons Communications and CENCOM of Alabama. Freeman Spogli realized its investment in Marcus Cable through a sale of the company to a business controlled by Paul Allen in 1998.
