At the time of Freeman Spogli’s investment, N.E.W. administered extended service contracts covering a wide range of products such as consumer electronics, appliances, home office equipment, lawn and garden equipment, home satellite TV equipment, power tools and jewelry. N.E.W. merged with phone warranty company Asurion in 2008. Freeman Spogli realized its investment in N.E.W. Asurion through a series of recapitalizations and a sale of the company to a consortium of private equity buyers in 2012.
